Responsibilities

• Manage by walking around

• Complete turnaround report at end of day

• Ensure all equipment has been put away at the end of day

• Put all reports in ship day folder

• Scan reports to place on SharePoint for invoicing

• Send payroll report to payroll coordinator

About the job

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Meet and greet passengers at baggage claim area.

·         Ensure passenger is on the appropriate transfer as

indicated on the manifest sheets. Immediately advise.

Work in Victoria during the beautiful summer season keeping guest engaged throughout a unique experience

What you will be doing:

• Receiving guests as they disembark for their Cruise
• Led guest on fixed-route Walking Tours with stops for verbal talks
• Attention to safety concerns of traffic and walkways
• At the conclusion of each Tour communicate the available options to return to the Cruise Ship
• Communicating with the Pier Staff as necessary
• Knowledge of the history of the City
• Build your own presentation with cultural and historic information (Training provided)

Candidate will be responsible for the Supervision of the Shore Excursions at the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal.

About The Job

Prepare for the morning dispatch: 

• Checking email for guest counts,
• Filling out the dispatch sheet with the correct bus # and drivers name,
• Making sure you have the correct tour signs with the color sticker the ship is using,
• As well as signs to give to the drivers for the coaches.
• Provide the staff with clip boards and walkie talkies,
• Advise the staff where the need to provide assistance
• Greet the Shorex Ship Staff and get the correct counts and greet the drivers as they arrive.
• Assist with loading the guests on to the correct tour buses
• Mark down times and counts on the dispatch sheet.
• Once all tours have left, you connect with dispatch with your counts and complete the process online

• Minimum 18 years old 
• Willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekend and holidays

SHOREX PIER STAFF

What you will be doing:

• Prepare for the arrival of the Cruise passengers
• Ensure all coaches are ready, lined up and in the correct place
• Using the dispatch sheet place the signage on the coaches
• Brief drivers and Tour Support and ensure they are adequately prepared
• Ensure that Walking Tour Guides have the necessary  signage and located in the assigned area
• Prepare and have ready the vouchers and additional forms that drivers need when departing
• Provide the drivers with a head count
• Help load buses, count tickets and ensure a smooth and efficient dispatch
  
• Collect all signage from the Pier
  
• Prepare for when the buses return to the Pier
• Advise the Ship when all passengers have returned

TOUR SUPPORT

What you will be doing: 

• Welcome guest to Victoria as they disembark and  guide them to the correct area
• Assist with boarding of buses
  
• Collect and count tickets to ensure they match number of guest
• Provide guidance to assigned group of guest
• Work with local Tourism suppliers and other staff 

 What you will be doing:

• The dispatcher will manage the flow of bus traffic for disembarking and embarking buses at the Cruise Ship Terminal
• Communicate with Bus Company to ensure all is in order
• Note when the buses arrive and inform drivers of their duties for the day
• Communicate with Supervisors in the baggage rooms to determine when the transfers will be at the bus bay
• Load the buses in an orderly and timely fashion for transfer to airport
• When the bus is full send to the airport and notify the Airport Team that bus is on the way
• Communicate with the Airport Team at the airport to ensure that there are sufficient buses to load embarking passengers
• Communicate with Longshore to determine where the luggage will dropped - dock or cruise ship level
• Complete all necessary paperwork for the day 

This is a seasonal position from June to November

Who we are looking for:

• Dispatch experience is an asset 
• Proven customer service experience
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize witin tight timelines
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic computer skills 
• Speak, read and write English is a must - other languages a plus
• Able to obtain a Port Pass - Intercruises provides assistance with application
• Legally permitted to work in Canada
• Able to work a Day shift including weekends and Holidays
